Welcome to Ingleside Farm!

We raise registered Icelandic sheep for breeding stock, fleece, and meat.

Ingleside Icelandics is a young flock, formed in March 2005 when we purchased six bred ewe lambs shortly after buying our farm.  I had loved Icelandic sheep for years, so it was a dream come true to finally be able to start a flock of my own.

We’re very proud of the superb genetics of our sheep.  Most of our sheep carry a percentage of AI ancestry from some of the top sires in Iceland.  Many are also descended from well-known North American bloodlines.

The things we love most about Icelandic sheep are their hardiness and versatility.  So, as we move into future generations, our breeding plan will continue to select for balanced animals that provide excellent meat and fleece production; heat and parasite resistance; diversity of color and bloodlines; prolific, easy lambing; and superior mothering ability.

Our sheep are registered with the CLRC.  We are members of the Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America (ISBONA).

About Us:

Ingleside Farm is owned by Nancy Chase and Ken Kelley.  In addition to being a farmer, Nancy is a writer, editor, crafter, and fiber artist.  Ken is a computer programmer and physicist.

Ingleside is a beautiful pre-Civil War farm that we purchased as a fixer-upper.  It had been allowed to become severely run down, but as time and finances allow, we are working to bring the grand old place back to life.

You can read more about daily life on the farm on my farm blog, Keeping the Farm.  To browse some of our hand made and home grown gift items, stop by our Etsy shop and our CafePress store.
