Our Rams
Our beloved Nicholai, with his exceptional heat and parasite resistance and wonderful temperament, is still our favorite boy.
But we’re also thrilled to add Midas (formerly known as Ezra) to our flock. He proved himself to me long before he even arrived here: All of my best fleece sheep are his descendents, and all of his daughters that I own have superior heat/parasite resistance. I feel very lucky to be able to have “the man” himself join my flock.
Tut’s first season of lambs really excelled in both beauty and broad, stout, meaty builds, even when he was bred to less-meaty ewes.
Taj, also in his first season, produced large, vigorous lambs that are already showing his wide build and thick, lustrous fleece.
Titan was used as cleanup ram last winter, but apparently the other boys didn’t leave him any job to do. He has matured beautifully over the past year, with a large build and wide horns. He’ll have another chance to produce lambs this fall.
Umber, one of our largest and most promising ram lambs of the year, is a cross between my best meat ram and my best fleece ewe. He has shown very good heat/parasite resistance so far, and will get a chance to produce lambs of his own this season.
Our remaining young ram, Ukraine, is in waiting to see how he matures over the coming year. A cross between my best meat ewe and my best parasite-resistant ram, he has the potential to add a lot of great attributes to our flock in the future. |

Nicholai JAGER RAM M5H 641N -[CAN]572385-: Horned moorit solid twin ram. Born 2003. 12.5% AI bloodlines (Heli), 50% Solee. Carries spotting. He is the last son of Solee, Jager Farm’s all-time best maternal line—just look at her lambing record! Solee was one of the first Icelandic sheep ever to be imported into the U.S. Broad, square conformation; massive horns; and a calm, docile temperament. Very heat tolerant and worm-resistant, too. He has only needed worming once in 3 years!

Umber INGL RAM M5H 003U. Horned moorit solid single ram. Born 2008. 37.5% AI blood (Bambi, Blaevar, Flotti, Morro). Based on the wild “flashing” marks on his face, it’s safe to say he carries spotting. This lamb is a cross between my best meat ram and my best fleece ewe. Mom also has excellent heat/parasite resistance. This is a lively, precocious, BIG lamb, with excellent harmony and a lot of personality. He’s showing extremely good heat and parasite resistance so far.

Taj FRELSI AI RAM 01H 555T: Horned white twin AI ram. Born 2007. 87.5% AI bloodlines (Moli, Muli, Laekur). Probably homozygous white. Lots of great AI lines here, for both meat conformation and fine fleece. Nice broad shoulders, wide build, huge horns, and wonderfully rich, lustrous fleece. Just an overall beautiful ram with a bright, alert temperament and a very high AI%. He produces large, vigorous lambs.
