Text Box: INGLESIDE FARM

About Ingleside

Ingleside is a historic 26-acre farm, located in beautiful, rural Buckingham County—the heart of central Virginia.  Ken and I now run it as a small family farm, where we raise Icelandic sheep and other heritage breeds of livestock.

When we purchased Ingleside in August 2004, the farm and buildings were very run down, in need of extensive repair and renovation.  We’re tackling the job step by step, as our time and finances allow.  It’s a long, slow, expensive process, but a fulfilling one.  We feel privileged to be the caretakers of this grand old place, and we hope that our efforts will bring it back to life and ensure its survival for many decades to come.

Our Goals

Our goals are:  To help preserve heritage breeds of livestock, fruits, and vegetables that are suitable for small, diversified farms.  To learn—and teach—historic handicrafts and natural farming methods.  To provide an alternative to mass-produced products through our wide selection of natural, home-grown, and hand-crafted items.
