I can’t believe it’s already time to start planning for next year’s lambs!

We do still have a few 2009 lambs left for sale. They have been moved to the Sheep for Sale page with the other sale sheep. Check it out—we have some super bargains available right now.

We have several new rams to go in our breeding groups this fall, and we’re already getting excited thinking about the lambs they’ll give us in the spring.

Below, I’ve listed all of the breeding groups we have planned for this season.

Breeding season runs from late October through the end of December. Lambing season will start in March.

Expected 2010 Lambs by Nicholai

Our beloved Nicholai is a big fellow, with abundant fleece, magnificent horns, and a mild temperament. His exceptional heat and parasite resistance makes him priceless in our breeding program. To try to propagate this trait, this year, we have given him an entire breeding group of our most parasite resistant ewes.

Nicholai X Paisley: Lambs will be moorit solid or moorit badger, possibly spotted. 6.25% AI (Heli), 25% Solee, 25% Midas. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has excellent heat/parasite resistance, good milkiness, and a superb, lustrous fleece. Her lambs tend to be large and friendly, with very rich, lustrous fleeces. Due April 6-8.

Nicholai X Sapphire: Lambs will be black or moorit solid, possibly spotted. 37.5% AI (Heli, Langidalur), 25% Solee. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has excellent heat/parasite resistance, large size, good build, spectacular horns, and a long, abundant fleece. Due March 30-April 1.

Nicholai X Rhonwen: Lambs may be black or moorit, solid or badger, and possibly spotted. 12.5% AI (Blaevar, Heli), 25% Solee, 25% Midas. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has excellent heat/parasite resistance, good milkiness, and the softest fleece in my flock. Her lambs tend to be large with superb fleeces. Due March 23-25.

Nicholai X Titania: Lambs will be white, black solid, or moorit solid. 46.9% AI (Eldar, Kostur, Heli), 25% Solee. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has good heat/parasite resistance, good size and horns, a stout meaty build, and a fine-textured fleece. Due April 6-8.

Nicholai X Uleda: Lambs will be black or moorit, badger or gray. 17.2% AI (Grimur, Heli, Hunn), 25% Solee. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has good parasite resistance, a stout meat build, and a rich fleece.

Nicholai X Urbana: Lambs will be white, solid, or badger, possibly spotted. 28.15% AI (Heli, Laekur, Moli, Muli), 25% Solee. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has good parasite resistance, a terrific meat build, a tame personality, and an exceptionally rich fleece. Due March 31-April 2.

Expected 2010 Lambs by Scimitar

Scimitar is new to us this year, and what a handsome fellow he is. Excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. We expect him to add some nice stoutness to his lambs.

Nicholai X Paris: Lambs will be black or moorit, solid or gray. 37.5% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Bruni, Heli, Horvi, Stubbur), 25% Solee, 25% MacBeth. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam has excellent heat/parasite resistance, a large build, wide horns, exceptional milkiness, and abundant fleece. Due March 29-31.

Expected 2010 Lambs by Ukraine

Ukraine has grown out beautifully this year. He has an excellent meat build, broad and stout all over, just like his mom. He has a thick, dense fleece and so far shows the mild temperament demonstrated by both his parents. These will be his first lambs.

Ukraine X Pandora: Lambs will be white carrying moorit, solid, and possibly spotting. 56.25% AI (Blaevar, Flotti, Heli, Kani, Moli, Molur, Rektor, Thettir), 25% Nicholai. This is a cross of my two best meat lines. Sire has an excellent meat build. Dam has a very broad meat build, abundant fleece, and excellent milkiness.

Ukraine X Utopia: Lambs will be white or solid, possibly spotted. 43.75% AI (Blaevar, Flotti, Heli, Kani, Moli, Molur, Rektor, Thettir), 50% Nicholai. This is a linebreeding of Nicholai (for potential parasite resistance) combined with two of the best meat lines in my flock. Due March 29-31.

Expected 2010 Lambs by Wessex

I’m so pleased with how Wessex has turned out! Not only was he the most parasite resistant lamb of 2009, he also combined his mother’s stout meat build and his father’s extraordinary fleece in one beautiful ram. Plus he has a very tame and friendly personality.

Wessex X Moriah: Lambs will be black solid or badger, possibly spotted. 32.8% AI (Blaevar, Eldar, Kostur, Heli), 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam has a very fine fleece, good milkiness, and very wide horns. This cross is 3/4 the same bloodline as my best fleece ewe, with 1/4 of improved meat build added in. Due April 4-6.

Wessex X Tundra: Lambs will be white, badger, or solid, possibly spotted. 41.4% AI (Bambi, Biskup, Blaevar, Eldar, Heli, Kongur, Kostur), 25% Nicholai, 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam has a good build, abundant fleece, and very wide horns.

Wessex X Ulyssia: Lambs will be white, moorit solid, or moorit badger, possibly spotted. 39.1% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Eldar, Kostur, Heli, Hunn), 25% Nicholai, 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam is the only full sister to Titan, one of the most magnificent rams we’ve produced. Due March 31-April 2.

Expected 2010 Lambs by William

William is simply a delight. He has an excellent build, a luscious thick fleece, super-wide horns, a funny friendly personality, AND he’s a triplet!

William X Persia: Lambs will be white, solid, or gray. 81.25% AI (Blaevar, Heli, Kani, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli, Rektor, Thettir). Sire has an excellent build, abundant fleece, and exceptionally wide horns. Dam has the best meat build in my flock and the sweetest, most docile personality.

William X Tara: Lambs will be white, solid, or mouflon. 56.25% AI (Heli, Hunn, Kani, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli). Excellent genes for prolificacy here: a triplet crossed with a quad! Sire has an excellent build, abundant fleece, and exceptionally wide horns. Dam is a very tame and friendly natural quad who may carry the Thoka gene for extra prolificacy.

Expected 2010 Lambs by Wotan

Wotan is new to us this year. He’s a beauty, with a wonderful, dense, fine-textured fleece, excellent meat bloodlines, and a beautiful horn set.

William X Tansy: Lambs will be moorit or black, badger or mouflon, possibly spotted. 56.25% AI (Bambi, Heli, Hnykill, Kari, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Morro, Muli, Skjanni). Sire has excellent meat bloodlines, plus a wonderful, dense, fine-textured fleece. Dam has a large build and an exceptionally abundant, fine textured fleece. Due March 31-April 2.

Scimitar X Whippoorwill: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 40.5% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Heli, Horvi, Hunn, Kudi, Laekur). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam is a large ewe lamb with a very abundant fleece.

Scimitar X Wish: Lambs will be white, gray or mouflon. 68.75% AI (Bambi, Heli, Horvi, Kudi, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam is a very stout ewe lamb with an abundant fleece.

Ukraine X Whimsy: Lambs will be white, solid, or badger, possibly spotted. 40.63% AI (Blaevar, Flotti, Heli, Kani, Molur, Moli, Rektor, Thettir), 25% Nicholai, 25% Midas. Sire has an excellent meat build. Dam is a good-sized ewe lamb with a nice build and an exceptionally soft, fine fleece. Due March 30-April 1.

William X Rowena: Lambs will be white, solid, or badger. 37.5% AI (Heli, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli). Sire has an excellent build, abundant fleece, and exceptionally wide horns. Dam has good parasite resistance, a large build, and a thick, rich fleece. Due: March 19-21.

Scimitar X Wren: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 53.13% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Flotti, Horvi, Hunn, Kani, Kudi, Laekur, Molur, Morro). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam is a good-sized ewe lamb from excellent mothering lines.

Wessex X Salem: Lambs will be black or moorit, solid or badger, possibly spotted. 51.55% AI (Ari, Bambi, Biskup, Eldar, Kostur, Heli, Hnykill, Leifur), 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam is a very tame and friendly leader sheep with wide horns, good milkiness, and a soft fleece.

Ukraine X Savannah: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon, possibly spotted. 56.25% AI (Ari, Bambi, Biskup, Blaevar, Heli, Hnykill, Kani, Leifur, Rektor, Thettir), 25% Nicholai. Sire has an excellent meat build. Dam is a leader sheep with excellent horns and a very abundant, soft fleece. Due April 6-8.

Scimitar X Ultra: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 62.5% AI (Ari, Bambi, Biskup, Flotti, Hnykill, Horvi, Kudi, Laekur, Liefur, Morro). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam is a very tame leader sheep with a nice fleece and excellent horns.

Scimitar X Uma: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 61.75% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Heli, Horvi, Kudi, Laekur, Rektor). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam is a pretty polled ewe with an inky black fleece.

William X Secret: Lambs will be white or solid. 56.25% AI (Arfi, Dropi, Heli, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli). Sire has excellent meat bloodlines, plus a wonderful, dense, fine-textured fleece. Dam has a large build, good conformation, and a plush, rich fleece. Due April 14-16.

Scimitar X Sadie: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 50% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Heli, Horvi, Kudi, Laekur), 25% Nicholai. Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam has a very large build with a nice long back and abundant fleece.

Nicholai X Pearl: Lambs will be white or solid. 37.5% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Heli, Horvi), 25% Solee, 25% MacBeth. Sire has excellent heat/parasite resistance and a mild temperament. Dam is a well-built polled triplet ewe. These lambs will be full siblings to our very large and beautiful ewe Sadie.

Scimitar X Tsarina: Lambs will be white, carrying either gray or mouflon. 68.75% AI (Bambi, Horvi, Kudi, Kunningi, Laekur, Molur, Thokki). Sire has an excellent build, lovely fleece, and a beautiful horn set. Dam has a very good meat build, wide horns, and a beautiful fine-textured fleece. Due March 31-April 2.

Scimitar X Undra: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray or mouflon. 59.4% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Flotti, Horvi, Hunn, Kani, Kudi, Laekur, Molur, Morro), 25% Nicholai. Sire has an excellent meat build. Dam is from one of my best mothering lines.

William X Tawny: Lambs will be white or solid. 56.25% AI (Heli, Hunn, Kani, Laekur, Langidalur, Moli, Muli). Excellent genes for prolificacy here: a triplet crossed with a quad! Sire has an excellent build, abundant fleece, and exceptionally wide horns. Dam is a gorgeous natural quad who may carry the Thoka gene for extra prolificacy.

Wessex X Regina: Lambs will be black or moorit, gray, badger, gray-badger, or solid, possibly spotted. 45.3% AI (Blaevar, Eldar, Heli, Hunn, Kani, Kostur, Molur, Morro), 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam has a stout build, an abundant fleece, and is an excellent mother with very easy births.

Wessex X Tetra: Lambs will be white, solid or badger, possibly spotted. 37.6% AI (Eldar, Heli, Kostur, Rektor, Sponn), 25% Midas. Sire has a stout build, a wonderfully rich, fine-textured fleece, and was our most parasite resistant lamb of 2009. Dam has a stout build with nice hindquarters and good horns.

Wotan X Whisper: Lambs may be white, badger, or solid, possibly spotted. 32.13% AI (Flotti, Mjaldur, Molur, Moli, Morro, Rektor), 25% Midas. Sire has excellent meat bloodlines, plus a wonderful, dense, fine-textured fleece. Dam has a broad build and an exceptionally fine-textured fleece.

Wotan X Waltz: Lambs will be black or moorit solid or mouflon, possibly spotted. 36.7% AI (Bambi, Blaevar, Eldar, Heli, Hnykill, Hunn, Kari, Kostur, Morro, Skjanni).
