Living Room Renovations
The living room has wonderfully high ceilings, and huge floor-to-ceiling windows. It still has the original plaster walls and ceiling, which are cracked and patched in multiple places. The floor was replaced before we owned the place, and is still in decent condition, although in need of refinishing. The fireplace is mostly covered up.
The most striking oddities of this room when we first moved in were the broken smoky-colored crystal chandelier (which to our surprise turned out to be a regular-colored crystal chandelier once we washed off the coating of caked-on grime) and the “ornate” gold-colored curtain tie-back hooks that upon closer inspection turned out to be tin-can lids, spray painted gold, and fastened to the wall with large screws. Fancy! |
