Sheep’s Milk Soap

I’m very excited about the three new product lines we’ve introduced this year:

- Sheep’s milk soap, luscious and long lasting, made from the milk of our own sheep.

- Felted sheep’s milk soap, wrapped in a felted coating of wool from our flock, to form a built-in, all natural scrubby.  Even my husband, who rarely notices one shower product from another, keeps commenting on how much he loves these!

- Soap felting kits, with everything you need to make your own felted soap.  It’s easy and fun!

Milk-based soaps are good for the skin because of milk’s naturally moisturizing fats and healthy alpha-hydroxy acids.

Sheep’s milk soap is the most luxurious and healthy of all, because sheep’s milk is higher in butterfat, milk proteins, vitamins, and minerals than either cow or goat milk.

What could be more natural and luxurious than handmade sheep’s milk soap?

All of the milk for this year’s batch of soaps was provided by our beautiful ewe Tansy.  Thanks Tansy!

Ingredients:

Olive oil

Sheep’s milk

Water

Lye

Essential oil blend

Sheep’s Milk Soap

Our luscious soap is handmade in small batches, using milk from our very own sheep.

Each big, long-lasting bar weighs about 4 oz. and contains only the most natural ingredients: olive oil, sheep’s milk, water, lye, and pure essential oils.

The Amber-Spice scent is a subtle blend of amber, myrrh, cinnamon, and oak moss. The scent is soft, but not overly feminine, so both men and women love the smell.  No coloring has been added.

Felted Sheep’s Milk Soap

The same soap as listed above, with one awesome addition.  It has been hand-felted with wool from our flock. The felted wool forms a wonderful all-natural scrubby, with just the right amount of gentle exfoliation, like a good washcloth.

It also makes the soap easier to grip. As the soap is used, the wool shrinks to fit what is left, so you can use the whole bar, avoiding those slippery little end bits of soap that are hard to hold, slip down the drain, and are wasted.

When the soap is gone, you can even cut a slit into the remaining felt "jacket" and use it as a small pouch, or fill it with catnip for an all-natural cat toy.

Available in 5 colors:  Brown, Beige, White, Gray, and Black.  These are the natural colors of the sheep.  No dyes have been used.

These are for sale in my Etsy shop.

Soap Felting Kit

Make your own felted bars of soap, or get together with a few friends and have a soap-felting party! It's easy and fun.

This kit contains everything you need to make the exact same felted soaps as listed above.  All you have to provide is a bowl of hot water and a few minutes of your time.

The kit includes:

· Sheep's milk soap

· Pure Icelandic sheep's wool

· Instructions

Written and video instructions are posted here.

The kits are for sale in my Etsy shop.

I overheard my daughter talking to her friend yesterday.

She said how her mom got the coolest soap, and it had wool wrapped around it,

so there was a scrubbie built right in, and how it smelled soooooo good. :)

Nancy - I got my felted soap - thank you!

And thanks to Tetra the icelandic ewe who provided the wool

and Tansy who provided the milk for the soap -

how fun to get their 'business' cards and

see the animals who made this project sooo good.

I want you to know I am really enjoying using it -

its a great idea to felt the soap to make a gentle 'scrubbie' on the outside

with that lovely creamy soap on the inside. I do hope others will try your products :)
